About Club Phred

Club Phred is a group of musicians who on average have over thirty years of professional experience. We all share a love of music, from the early days of rock and roll through the present, including rock, r&b, jazz and funk. The band has deep roots in the Mid-Atlantic region. Club Phred formed in 2002 and have performed at several events with Mark Farner, formerly of Grand Funk Railroad, Felix Cavaliere of 1997 Rock and Roll Fame inductees The Rascals and Gary Brooker of Procol Harum. Club Phred has also opened up for, among others, Pete Best, the original drummer of The Beatles, The Marshall Tucker Band, Disney recording artist Sarah Buxton, country artist Katie Armiger, and Delaware native Chuck Wicks, author of ‘Stealing Cinderella’. Club Phred is sometimes joined in performance by the horn section of the former CBS Orchestra, house band for the David Letterman show. The horns’ musical director Tom “Bones” Malone , among many other highlights in a distinguished career, is a founder of the Blues Brothers Band during his time at Saturday Night Live. The band values Tom’s skill and friendship when we have the opportunity to perform with him and the horns. Club Phred has won numerous awards from the Delaware media and has helped various charitable organizations raise more than $5,000,000 since 2004. Club Phred serves as the house band for the Delaware Rock and Roll Society, formerly the Delaware Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and were inducted into the DE R&R HOF in 2019 by “Bones” Malone.  Click here for list of Charitable Organizations Club Phred has helped through performances.
